Next Wednesday, April 20, we are hosting a workshop for Freedom to Learn participants which is a continuation session focusing how to use Connected Tech more effectively. Connected Tech allows teachers to post web-based activities and assignments that students can access and use. Students have to log in to the teacher-create site, and teachers can create multiple sites for different groups or classes of students.
Connected Tech does have its limitations (you can only add pre-approved web pages), but offers an easy way for teachers to develop an “online presence.” Who cares? Well, I do. A teacher web page gives students a place from which to start and specific resources from which to choose, not simply opening up Google and doing a search on octopus.
In other news…I mentioned several workshop possibilities coming up for the month June. Those have been finalized and can be found on our Technology Integration Classes page.
