BCISD’s New Web Site…and Other News

So busy last week! Among other events, BCISD has taken the next step towards a newly redesigned web site. The new site has a new appearance as well as a new organizational structure. Hopefully it will prove useful to teachers, administrators, and anyone who needs educational support. The old site is still available, and is actually still the main site. As soon as the bugs are worked out the new site will replace the old.

Technology Workshop Flyer
Be on the lookout for our fall semester technology workshop flyer. We have four online classes scheduled as well as many other traditional workshops. We normally have our workshops listed online, but with the new website in the works, I’m loathe to publish any URLs for fear they might not last.

If you have any questions about our workshops, please email me.

Moving to Cyberspace
Speaking of online classes, many K12 educators have taken the plunge and have begun to lead their classes in an online environment. Almost 9 out of 10 12-17 year-olds have online access from home, don’t you think we as educators should take advantage of their connectivity? Moving to Cyberspace is a workshop scheduled for September 27, October 25, and January 31 which will help teachers take some of their traditional instruction online. Each session will be a working lab…we’ll spend time organizing and creating a new, online classroom.

We will be using an online tool called Moodle. Visit our BCISD Online Learning portal to find out what it’s all about.
