Technology Teachers Resource Meeting

Last night we hosted a short gathering of teachers who teach with technology in our local districts. There’s usually a pretty good mix from media specialists to classroom teachers at all levels.

For a change of pace, I decided to use PBWiki to create an online document for the agenda and items of interest we’d be talking about. I wanted to see how we’d do viewing and editing this document basically all at the same time. I was really happy about how easy it was to create content. Usually I use Dreamweaver to create web pages…I don’t have any problems with html and ftp and most other tlas. But the wiki was so quick…it was as easy as making a peanut butter sandwich. It also allowed Janine to add content when and where she needed to.
How’d it turn out?  Well we quickly figured out that multiple people can’t edit the same page at the same time…I guess that’s more of what a discussion board is for.  But it was pretty fun and generated some interest in the participants.
