New office suite, set your text on fire…

  • Doing some research? EBSCOhost offers schools and libraries free access to searchable, full-text databases. Add it to your list of tools.
  • Need a free how-to guide? wikiHow is a collaborative writing project to build the world's largest how-to manual. It's a wiki so you can make your own contributions. Better yet, have your students create a "how-to" as a writing assignment and then have them add it to the site.
  • WikiVille is a site that lets you create a page describing life in your home town. It's a new site and there aren't any towns for Michigan yet. Great for community studies.
  • At FlamingText you can create cool, custom images for FREE to use in multimedia projects and web sites.
  • I've passed on several online word processors and spreadsheets, but ThinkFree is an entire office suite available online from anywhere for free. It's completely compatible with MS Office.
  • Edheads brings you high quality, free educational activities for your classroom.
