Podcasts and a bit from the USGS

This week I’m pointing you to some podcasts, audio broadcasts either you or your students can listen to…no iPod needed!

  • National Geographic News…Listen to the week’s top nature and science news, interviews with innovators, audio quizzes and a little feature they call Photos on the Radio.
  • Poem Present is a collection of poetry readings and lectures from the University of Chicago.
  • NOVA scienceNOW Podcast offers brief conversations with scientists and science journalists.
  • The History Channel’s podcasts feature several broadcasts focusing on historical mysteries, current/historical issues, and more.

  • I’ve sent something out like this before, but how cool is watching earthquakes happen all over the world in real time?  The U.S. Geological Survey allows you to do so using Google Earth.
