Scribus, SimCity, puppets…

  • If you need a desktop publishing application, but don’t want to spend any money, try Scribus. It’s a free, full-featured tool for Mac or Windows.
  • History teachers, take notes at Speaking of History. This blog is maintained by an 8th grade history teacher and includes many ideas and activities.
  • Use puppets to help teach content. Puppetools has lessons and activities as well as puppet patterns you can download or print. Add some creativity to your classroom!classlivepic.jpg
  • At some point in your life you may have played SimCity. Now you can play it for free online.
  • A resource you may forget about at times is the Michigan eLibrary. Use it to find web resources, databases, historical documents, and other primary sources.
