Mating calls, 100 pictures, and by the way, SC is coming to town…

Weekly Web Wonders

  • Do you know what the mating call of the American Alligator sounds like?  Well, now you can with the Macaulay Library Animal Sound & Video Catalog.  There’s more besides alligators, too.
  • It’s not as early as it seems to begin planning to Track Santa.  This year the folks at NORAD are using Google Earth to show Santa’s progress in 3D!  Also available are several fun activities.
  • Then, once you’ve downloaded Google Earth, check out their newest feature: Dopler Radar and cloud coverage of the contiguous United States.
  • Camtasia Studio is a great piece of software that lets you record your screen and save it as video.  You can add a lot of other types of media as well.  What’s the news?  The publisher of Camtasia Studio, TechSmith, is giving away free downloads!

Thanks to Ben for the great information!

  • 10×10 is a cool site that could be used for current events and class discussion.  “Every hour, 10×10 collects the 100 words and pictures that matter most on a global scale, and presents them as a single image, taken to encapsulate that moment in time.”  It’s one of those sites you have to see to understand.
