Maps, Toys, and 3D…

  • Concept maps are some of my favorite uses of technology…they look good, are easy to manipulate, and who’s going to argue against the virtues of concept mapping? Cayra is a FREE piece of software for creating mind maps. It’s a great application and you can’t beat the price! Click to see a screen shot.
  • fd’s Flickr Toys is a fun site that has tools for making your digital images something more. For example, upload a picture to make into a jigsaw puzzle you can work online or order. Lots of fun tools to use for free.
  • Sweet Home 3D is a sweet and FREE interior design application that allows you to design a floor plan and view it in three dimensions. Great for all types of design projects.
  • What Are You Doing in That Computer Lab? Well, that’s the name of the article and it should give you a number of good ideas of how to spend your time wisely while in the room of humming boxes.
  • You know I like Google Earth, but those images are not incredibly current. They may be months or even years old, depending on the source. NASA’s One Earth project, however, is the most current, near-global image of the earth available. It’s very cool, and only a few hours old!
